Quick Trip to Erie

Last week we took a quick trip to Erie, PA. Mike's brother ad his family live there. It had been 2 years since we were up there, so we fit in a quick trip this summer.

We got there about 9 pm on Thursday. Friday, while Chris (Mike's brother) was at work, we had the boys picture taken for a Christmas gift for Grandma (and Grandpa), went to the pool and relaxed a bit at the house.

After supper, Cheri got a cake out in order to celebrate the boys birthdays.

Here is a better view of the cake.

Saturday, we packed up and went to the Lake. The boys had a great time.

They used this small shovel to dig plenty of holes. They, also, tried to catch fish with it. (Uh, Papaw, you may need to take my boys fishing!)

They dug holes,

and more holes!

Adam worked really hard on a really BIG hole. Big enough, in fact, that...

...he could crawl in!

Later, he dug an even bigger one and he...

...again crawled in. He wanted to be buried up to his neck. Wish granted!

Then the boys worked on this one together. They were retaining walls around it. It was too close to the water to really work, but I wasn't about to tell them that! I loved to see them working so well together!

In the picnic area, at the Lake, they had a climbing structure.

Adam loved it! he climbed to the top, so I had to get a picture.

Then to put it into perspective I had to get a picture of the whole thing! It is mainly ropes that you climb on. Kind of like a big spider web.

Austin enjoyed it as well.

That evening, for the boys birthday presents, Chris and Cheri took the boys to an amusement park near their house.

Mike is in the back and Adam is in the middle.

Austin was brave and rode in the front!

They had so many rides to choose from! But, they even took time to ride the Sky lift. A nice calm ride that took you over the park.

This is Austin and Seth.

Mike and Adam.

They rode the swings--Adam and Seth, getting buckled in.

Austin and Vaughn waiting for it to start.

Then they went on this ride. It went back and forth, when it went up to the top at each side it would turn. All the boys loved it! (I was just glad no one got sick!!)

We got back to the house late, and the boys went to bed--happy, thrilled from the day, and TOTALLY exhausted!

What a fun time!

  1. Wow, that looks like a fun time! The water looks so clean and clear. It was a lot of things packed into a short stay. Mamaw
