Enrichment Week

There is a fun week that our school system offers every year. It is the Enrichment Week. They offer many types of classes for the children to choose from.

This year Adam chose drama. The play they were doing was about aliens coming to earth.

They were able to paint this space ship.

They were able to create different space ships out of boxes, tubes, etc. Using their imaginations and recyclables. This is the ship that Adam helped with.

They painted a frame to have their costumed picture in.

There is my cute little yellow alien!

Austin did a class called Flora and Fauna. They took a field trip every day. They looked at bugs, animals, mosses, and other interesting things about the environment. On Monday they went to Riven Rock. Tuesday and Wednesday they hiked 2 different trails in the Shenandoah National Park. Thursday they went to Luray and went Canoeing. Friday was a short day, so they went to the EMU science lab.

All the children went to see the play that drama had to present. When I went to see what Austin's class had been up to I saw him doing this...

I got a closer look and discovered that the EMU science lab had given each child an Owl Pellet to dissect. I was just glad his teachers gave him a Ziploc bag to bring it home in!!

  1. It was a very interesting play and display of what Austin and Mike had done. I think it was a good week for the boys. Amy was very lonely at home, I believe. Love Mamaw
