It is getting to be the end of the school year. This is the time when the boys schedules fill up with concerts. They get to show what they have been working so hard on at school.
Adam has had 3 concerts in the past week.
First we had the Spring concert at school. (This group is a bit smaller than normal, some of the other kids had sports to go to.) These are the Eagle Singers. They sang a few songs they have been working on. They did a great job! Adam is in the middle row third from the right.
Then later in the week Adam was in the all city concert. (Look how many kids are on stage!! I couldn't get them all in the picture~Adam is just to the left of the mic on the second row down)
These kids did an amazing concert. They did the same songs that they did for the other concert earlier in the week.
At the winter concert Adam's school group sang a song in Swahili. This time they sang a song in Hebrew. I love that they work other languages into the concerts! A song was done, that Mom says she remembers listening to that song on the radio when she was a young girl (Catch a falling star), The one that stands out to me was the indoor rainstorm we had!! :) The kids used their bodies to make the sounds of a rainstorm. Rubbing hands, snapping, clapping, patting legs, and jumping for thunder. Adam was so pleased he was one of the thunder kids.
Adam's music teacher Ms. Lendvay. She is a wonderful teacher. She has enough energy for about 3 people. Her love for music is contagious! Eagle Singers would meet before school at 8 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If Adam happened to be sluggish getting ready for school on those mornings, all I had to do was mention Eagle Singers and he would kick it up at notch and get ready much faster!
I sometimes get the opportunity to say hi to Adam while he is at lunch. A few months ago the opportunity came, as I went to his table I found he was not there. I asked his friend where he was and he told me the music teacher got him and took him to her room to talk to him. My first thought was, "oh no!! What happened??" A few minutes later he came out with a paper that invited him to play in the local University's Orff for Elementary and Middle schoolers. I wasn't sure what Orff was, but decided I would look it up that evening. Looked like fun so I signed him up.
They did singing-All is Russian.
They danced~These pictures did not turn out great since they were moving way too fast!!
Adam played the xylophone for 2 songs.
They also played recorders. However, Monday Adam took his to practice, but lost it somewhere in the music building. We thought he would find it when we went tot he concert, but sadly he did not. He did not mind. He just sang the part he was suppose to play. It was Okay--I love his easy going attitude!
Ms. Lendvay~Thank you for inviting Adam to this. He loved every minute of it! Thank you for being an inspiration, and sharing your energy for music. I know Adam has felt it this year! :)
