Not Ice Cream

On most days, on the way to school, Adam will play a quick game on my phone.  This being said, he does not pay much attention to what is outside the window on the quick few minutes it takes to get to school.

The other day, we pulled into the parking lot, and I had to park a few spaces down from where I usually pare.  The local hospital had their mammogram van at our school (how cool is that?  The mammogram comes to you!!) (side note here: The mammogram van is actually very pretty and colorful)

I had made a really quick comment about the van, but Adam was totally engrossed in the game he was playing.

We get out of the car, and Adam looks around and saw this really attractive van (only from the front) and said, "Why is there an ice cream truck at school?"

I wanted to laugh so hard!  It is hardly ice cream they are giving out in that van!!

Mulan jr.

The school where I work, and the boys attend, has a spring play every year.  This year the play was Mulan jr.  Adam did not want to be IN the play, but he applied to do backstage.  Little did we know that so many people other people would also be applying to do backstage.

Adam did not get picked.  He was disappointed.  So, I suggested that instead being in the play, we could invite a friend and attend the play.

Adam thought that was a great idea.

We talked to Adam's friend Jonathan.  We also invited Mamaw, and we went to the play.

The boys had a great time.  I enjoyed the play.  I think Mamaw liked it, although it was a new story to her.

Next year, Adam plans to apply for backstage again. He has been given some pointers that might help him get that position.  Next year, I may be sitting in the audience, and see Adam working the for the play--I would enjoy that too.  :)

Genetics

Genetics are truly a funny thing.  One child can look like one parent, while another can favor the other.  Some kids are a unique blend of both parents.

I have said since Austin was very little that he is ALL his dad!  Now, Mike's mother would often correct me and say, "Austin has your button nose."  Okay, all except his nose, is his daddy!

The other day Mike was looking for something in the basement.  He came across some pictures.  I was looking through them, and saw this one.

I thought, now if that doesn't look like Austin I don't what does!  Just to prove my point I took a picture of Austin to compare.

Yep, I'll claim the nose, but other than that...He is his daddy's son!
