Milestone

Austin hit a BIG milestone today.

For some time now, he has been discouraged having to be in a booster seat in the car. I told him that I really wanted him to be as tall as they recommend for safety reasons. He always got in his booster seat and did as we asked, but I knew he was not always happy with it.

Today I saw a lady from the fire dept at our school. I asked her what the regulations were about booster seats. She encouraged me to see another lady at the fire station--this lady's job is car seats! After work I went by the fire station, since it was sort of on my way to get the boys. We talked for some time, and she told me what to look for.

When I got the boys I did a trial run, having Austin sit in the car without the booster to see how the seat belt hit him on the shoulder or neck. I wasn't sure if it was okay or not. So....I packed the boys up and we went back to the fire station. She willingly came out and checked how the seat belt fit. Then she said those wonderful words, "You don't need your booster anymore."

I am happy for Austin that he is finally out of the booster. But, I have to say, I'm happy for me too. I think this may make our lives just a little easier.

Adam's 4th tooth

Adam has had a wiggly tooth for a while. He has been working on it, hoping to get it out. It had even gotten to the point that he complained of it bothering him while he was eating. Last night he even tried to "shoot it out" with a Nerf gun, like Austin has done a couple of times--it just did not work. He finally went to brush and floss his teeth. As we was wiping his mouth when he was done, the tooth fell in his hands. I guess he just needed to wait until it was ready.

He looks like he is in pain here, but he just wanted to show his new toothless hole.

Earrings...In The Eyes of Austin

This morning I put on a new pair of earrings. Here is a picture of them...

Austin looked at them and thought for a moment. He then stated, "They look like gold doughnuts."

I never thought of it, but he is kind of right. :)

When Adam Can't Sleep

The other night, I heard some little foot steps in the hall. I looked out to find Adam emerging from his room. He came to the side of my bed. I encouraged him to go to the bathroom, remembering that he had a lot to drink before bed. He came back and asked, "What should I do now?"

I guess when Adam cannot sleep, he looks for a "to do" list :)

About The Header

In January the teacher I work with was out due to surgery. I had the most amazing sub to fill in for her for that month. Jen, the sub, was very laid back, and very spontaneous. I, on the other hand, was very rote, and very much "by the book." Jen taught me in that month to relax--It is so much more enjoyable!! :)

On her last day, Jen brought me a pair of aviator sunglasses. Not necessarily for wearing, but more as a reminder to relax and enjoy life. I decided they had to be in my March header--it's even better that you can see both boys in the lenses.
